Visit to Retirement Village (Springvale)
A number of Year 2 students recently paid a visit to Lexington Gardens Retirement Village to meet and spend time with some of their residents.
The occasion began with an entertaining performance by our students. Residents were then presented with handmade cards and, in turn, students completed a colouring activity with them.
The visit is part of the Primary School’s ‘Respectful Relationships’ program and complements a recent Inquiry Unit (Year 2) called ‘Our Community’. The residents and our students really enjoyed the visit, which highlights the belief that “children and the elderly have a remarkable connection with one another”.
